Website Terms of Use
1. Acceptance and scope
These Terms of Use (these “Terms”) govern access to and use of the website operated by SGG Analytics Ltd (“CarbonQry”, “we”, “us”), including carbonqry.com, including the public areas of the CarbonQry Carbon Intelligence Platform (the “Site”), and any content, data, documentation, or sample materials made available through them (“Content”). By accessing the Site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
The Site is intended for use by professional and institutional users acting in the course of business. If you use the Site on behalf of a firm, you represent that you are authorised to bind that firm, and “you” includes the firm.
2. Client agreements
These Terms govern use of the Site only; they do not grant access to CarbonQry’s data products, which are supplied under clients’ separate written agreements (“Service Agreements”), and a Service Agreement prevails over these Terms in any conflict.
3. Nature of the Content
Content is provided for general information as at its stated date and is subject to revision without notice. Content may include figures that are estimated rather than reported by the companies concerned; where that is the case, it is identified as such in our materials, and such figures may differ from figures those companies report or later restate.
4. Informational purposes only
Content is provided for general information only. Nothing on the Site constitutes, or should be construed as: (a) investment, financial, legal, tax, accounting, or other professional advice; (b) a recommendation, solicitation, or offer to buy, sell, or hold any security or other financial instrument, or to pursue any investment strategy; (c) an ESG rating or a credit rating; or (d) a benchmark, or a contribution of input data to a benchmark, within the meaning of the EU or UK Benchmarks Regulation or similar legislation, and the Content may not be used as such without a separate written agreement with us. You are solely responsible for any decision made or action taken in reliance on Content, and you should obtain advice from qualified professionals appropriate to your circumstances.
5. Licence to use the Site; evaluation materials
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the Site and to view, download, and print Content made generally available on them, solely for your internal business evaluation and informational purposes. In addition:
- Sample and evaluation datasets are provided solely to evaluate CarbonQry’s services. They may not be redistributed, published, made available to third parties, incorporated into any product, service, index, fund, or report, or used to create or train any derivative dataset or model, without our prior written consent.
- Brief quotation of Site text for internal purposes is permitted with attribution to CarbonQry; public citation or reproduction of Content requires our prior written consent.
- All rights not expressly granted are reserved. This licence terminates automatically on breach of these Terms.
6. Acceptable use
In connection with the Site, you must not:
- scrape, crawl, harvest, spider, or otherwise systematically extract Content or data, whether manually or by automated means, or circumvent any technical or access controls, rate limits, or robots directives;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the methodologies, models, source data, or software underlying CarbonQry’s services, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- use Content to develop, train, calibrate, or benchmark any competing or substitute product, dataset, model, or service, including any machine-learning or artificial-intelligence system;
- share, sublicense, or transfer credentials, impersonate any person, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
- introduce malicious code, probe or test the vulnerability of any system, interfere with the operation or availability of the Site, or attempt unauthorised access to any systems, accounts, or data;
- remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary, attribution, or disclaimer notices; or
- use the Site in violation of applicable law, including export-control and sanctions laws, or access them from a jurisdiction, or on behalf of a person, subject to comprehensive sanctions where such access is prohibited.
7. Intellectual property and database rights
The Site and all Content, including text, datasets, data structures, methodologies, model outputs, selections and arrangements, graphics, page designs, logos, and software, are the property of CarbonQry or its licensors and are protected by copyright, database rights, trade-secret, and other intellectual-property laws. CarbonQry’s datasets are also protected as confidential compilations: the investment of skill, judgement, and resources in their selection, verification, and arrangement is proprietary to CarbonQry.
Certain Content incorporates data licensed from third-party providers. Such data remains the property of its owners, is subject to the restrictions in these Terms, and may be subject to additional restrictions notified on the Site or in a Service Agreement. “CarbonQry”, the CarbonQry logo, and associated marks are trademarks of SGG Analytics Ltd; no right or licence to use them is granted, and they may not be used in any manner likely to cause confusion or to disparage CarbonQry.
8. Feedback
If you provide suggestions, corrections, or other feedback regarding the Site or our services, we may use it without restriction or obligation, and you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to do so. This section does not apply to personal information, which is handled under our Privacy Policy, or to a client’s confidential information, which is handled under its Service Agreement.
9. Third-party sites and sources
The Site may reference or link to third-party websites, corporate disclosures, regulatory filings, or datasets. Such references are provided for convenience and information only. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for third-party content, and your use of third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
10. Availability; changes to the Site
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Site or Content at any time, and we do not warrant that the Site will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may impose or adjust limits on access to any feature without notice. We have no obligation to update any Content after its stated date, although we may do so.
11. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SITES AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT REPRESENTATION, WARRANTY, OR CONDITION OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, CARBONQRY DOES NOT WARRANT THAT CONTENT IS SUITABLE FOR ANY REGULATORY, REPORTING, OR COMPLIANCE PURPOSE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW: (A) CARBONQRY AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SITES OR ANY CONTENT, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), BREACH OF STATUTORY DUTY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES; AND (B) THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF CARBONQRY IN CONNECTION WITH THE SITES AND CONTENT WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS (IF ANY) PAID BY YOU TO CARBONQRY FOR ACCESS TO THE SITE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR FRAUD. THE LIMITATIONS IN THIS SECTION DO NOT APPLY TO A CLIENT’S RIGHTS UNDER A SERVICE AGREEMENT, WHICH ARE GOVERNED BY THAT AGREEMENT.
13. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CarbonQry and its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against claims, damages, losses, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site or Content, or your violation of applicable law, except to the extent caused by CarbonQry’s own breach or negligence.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice, including where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached. Sections 3, 4, 5 (restrictions), 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 15, and 16 survive termination.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms, and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes) arising out of or in connection with them or the Site, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, and each party irrevocably submits to that jurisdiction, provided that CarbonQry may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.
16. General provisions

- Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remainder will continue in full force.
- No waiver. A failure or delay in exercising any right is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a corporate transaction.
- No third-party beneficiaries. Except for CarbonQry’s licensors as regards sections 7, 11, and 12, these Terms create no rights in any third party.
